Bruce Colbert is an actor, filmmaker and author. His stage plays have  been performed Off-Broadway and in Chicago and Toronto. His newest play Fitzgerald on the notorious Scott and Zelda is currently in production. He has appeared on the BBC, ABC, NPR, Discovery TV Channels and in co-star film roles for HBO and Fox Searchlight.

Bruce has also written and produced several independent films including: Year of the Snake, Lombard Street and Interval. 

His books include a story collection, A Tree on the Rift
and eight novels: Lombard Street, In the Blood, The Cairo Arrangement, Words of Our Enemies, Bosphorus, Mobile Was a Catholic Town, Paint Me Midnight Blue and Scratch. In addition to his fiction are five poetry collections. His writing has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes and as a finalist for the Wisdom/Faulkner Best Novel. A wartime Navy veteran and active ocean sailor, he lives in coastal Alabama.
